Portfolio task 2

The charts above shows the main reason for study among students of different age groups and the amount of support they receive from their employers at work.

Around 80 percent of people under 26 study for career while 10 percent do it for interest , People of that age group get the most support from their employers out of all the other age groups. While people from 26-29 study less for career around 70 percent and a bit more for interest 15 percent. People from that age group also get a little less help from their employers. At the ages between 30 and 39 more people are studying for interest 25 percent and less people study for career 57 percent while support from their employers is at its lowest in the chart. The amount of people who study and for interest in the age group of 40-49 is equal and the support they get is better than the previous age group. The last age group looks like a mirror image of the first group as the number of people studying for career is way down while studyin for interest is at his highest point in the chart. And the people in this age group of over 49 get the 3rd highest support from their employers after the 1st and 2nd age group.

People under 26 studied most for career and least for interest and also got the most support from employers while people between 30-39 got the least support. Studying for interest was the highest for people over 49 and studying for career was the lowest for that age group.

World population growth

The line graph shows population growth in richer and poorer countries between 1750 and 2150. It is based on the United Nations World Population Prospects, the 1998 Revision, and estimates by the Population Reference Bureau.

In 1750 the total world population was less than one billion and the population of less developed countries was three or four times greater than that of more developed countries. By 2000 the total figure was 6.1 billion, but only about 1 billion were in the more developed countries. The estimate is that by 2150 the total world population will be well over 10 billion but the total for the more developed countries will remain at about one billion and may even fall slightly.

It is estimated that the total world population will increase dramatically over the next 150 years but that this growth will be entirely in the less developed countries .
